On Scoop.it, there are 4 different ways you can publish content.
1. Curate a post from our suggestion engine.
2. Curate using the Bookmarklet.
3. Write an original piece of content.
4. Upload a document.
For option 3 or 4, to write a post or upload a document, you can do so by clicking "create new content" on the top of your suggestion engine.
When you select it, you will have the option to provide a link to an existing piece of content, write an original post (by clicking "scoop without url") or upload your own document.
IF you wish to upload a document, select "upload your own document". The, choose the file you wish to upload. In this case, I will upload a powerpoint presentation.
Scoop.it uses Box to upload powerpoints. Box displays powerpoints in an easy to read, up-and-down format. Your readers will be able to access the entire powerpoint from your content hub, and scroll through the slides from there.
If you wish to display the powerpoint differently, in a left-to-right scrolling format, you can do so by uploading via Slideshare.
Slideshare is a free service through LinkedIn that allows you to upload powerpoints. To do so, go to slideshare and click "upload".
Now, select the file you wish to upload. You can choose some privacy settings within slideshare.
Once you upload it, Slideshare will take you to a page which contains the link to your presentation.
You can now Scoop this link directly using the Bookmarklet, or you can copy-paste it and enter it within the "create new content" button.
Or, enter the link in Scoop.it .
Now, when you go to curate this post, it will scroll left-to-right instead of up-and-down.
