Website KPIs are the key performance indicator for your website traffic. At the end of the day, you are generating content in order to bring traffic back to your website, where you can acquire and retain customers.
Key performance indicators are used by every team to understand how well they are doing. We provide you with two main KPIs that content-focused teams rely upon: shares and volume of content.
Hawkeye searches across Facebook and Linkedin to see how frequently content has been shared. These sites are indicators that your content is compelling and "shareable". The total number of shares spans the timeframe you've selected (6 months, all time, etc) and is limited to the applied filters.
Volume of content
The volume of content is the total number of content pieces Hawkeye indexed within your search parameters. Sites that are just getting started will have lower volumes of content, while websites that have produced content over time will have higher results.
What does this mean for my business?
When you look at this metric, it's important to keep in mind that a high or low total does not indicate failure or success. We recommend leveraging this report as a baseline: where are you now? When you review your results, think of what you want to achieve. Does your competitor get more shares while producing less content? If so, keep this in mind as you review other results.
