To begin your Share of Voice analysis, click Add brand in the top white bar.
You will see the following menu:
Enter the name of the brand as you want it to appear in the report. You will only enter one brand name and this name does not impact the analysis. The name is not a search field.
Next, enter the websites owned by the brand. Let's imagine Dunder Mifflin (an imaginary paper company) had the website dundermifflin.com and a blog at thepaperpeople.wordpress.com where local branches posted. We would enter both of these domains. This excludes these domains from the search. We exclude these domains because the purpose of this search is to understand what your share of voice is on the web outside of your own website. How much of the conversation is happening about you without coming from you?
Finally, you enter your brand keywords. These are used to identify when the brand is being mentioned. In the example below, you can see we have identified 4 paper stores to compare.
Pro-tip: general terms can bring in broad results. If you set up a query like this and saw many irrelevant results about "staples" the product but not the brand, you would filter your results
